Geran is a diamond in the rough. If you are watching it purely for a deep, complex screenplay, you might find the first half frustratingly sluggish. However, as a martial arts showcase, it is one of the most visceral and authentic films to emerge from Southeast Asia since Indonesia's The Raid.
