結婚にも仕事にも行き詰まった平凡な会社員モーガン・サリバンはついに会社を辞め、刺激を求めてハイテク企業デジコープ社の産業スパイとなる。彼はジャック・サースビーという名と偽のIDを与えられ、早速ある企業のコンベンションに潜入、情報盗聴を開始する。モーガンはかつてないスリルとサスペンスに興奮を覚え、任務を成功させるたびに自信を付けていった。しかし同時に、激しい頭痛と奇妙な映像のフラッシュバックに度々見舞われるようになる。そんな時、謎めいた女性リタが現われ、モーガンに驚くべき事実を伝えるのだったが…。
